Concrete and Gold is classic Foo Fighters with their winning formula of catchy pop hooks, grinding guitars and Grohl’s growling vocals. This is the Foo’s 9th album adding to their ever growing catalogue spanning more than two decades and on this one, the Rock & Roll God and Belushi’s favourite, Dave Grohl shows that he’s still got it - in case there ever was any doubt.
Dependable isn’t necessarily boring and you always know what you’re going to get with the Foo Fighters. So, whilst this one isn’t breaking any new ground for the band, there is still a great mix of banging stadium rock anthems mixed with some softer ballads. This is one of their most balanced records to date feature a couple of trademark FF tracks like lead singles ‘Run’ & ‘Sky is a Neighbourhood’.
