Following up from their self titled album that was loaded with bangers like ‘Busy Earnin’ and ‘The Heat’ the 7-piece British band are back with their highly anticipated ‘For Ever’ album, which is largely inspired by their move to the USA with constant references to California.
From the outset, ‘For Ever’ is just plain cool. It’s the kind of album that when you hear it, it’s impossible not to move. Every track is easy listening and there’s that disco funk sound that’s unmistakably Jungle, best heard in ‘Happy Man’ and the lead track ‘Smile’.
Overall, these upbeat grooves are just what we need
‘For Ever’ features a lot of bass driven tracks but is more vocally heavy than the last album too, which might be why it feels like a constant battle between happy (tracks like ‘Beat 54’) and sad (tracks like ‘Home’). Whilst the first half of the album is great, it does lose its way a little towards the end in the latter tracks.
Overall, these upbeat grooves are just what we need coming into the long European winter and you’ll be hearing them most nights at the bar this autumn.
