Album Releases to look out for in 2019
We’ve been searching far and wide to find the best new music coming out in 2019. We can tell you this year is looking damn good music wise with some of our favourite bands heading back to the studio.
Without doubt, the most anticipated release this year is coming from Belushi’s favourites Foals and they’re bringing not 1 but 2 albums to the floor with their new lineup. The first single ‘Exits’ is out now with ‘Everything Not Saved will be lost - Part 1’ coming our way on the 8th of March with the follow up album due some time in Autumn. You can be sure both albums will be monthly features in the bars.
2019 will almost certainly see the return of Tame Impala. In an interview with Australian radio station Triple J, frontman Kevin Parker stated he’d be disappointed if he didn’t have something out this year. The planned Coachella tour dates suggest there’ll be something out mid year and we can’t wait for it after the high rotation we gave their last album, ‘Currents’.
Mark Ronson will also be back with album ‘Late Night Feelings’ which will feature collaborations with Kevin Parker following on from their after their previous colab on the big track ‘Daffodils’ along with Lykke Li with a number of other special guests still to-be-announced.
Los Angeles punk rockers’‘FIDLAR’ will release their second album ‘Almost Free’ on the 25th January and while we’re not sure of the discography, we’re hoping the raw track ‘Alcohol’ is featured and you’ll want to look out for ‘Can’t see you’. Sticking with the American bands, after 6 years in the wilderness, NYC’s own Vampire Weekend will release a double album, their first album since 2013 with ‘Mitsubishi Macchiato’ and while still surrounded by a little mystery, it’s due later this year.
Catfish and the Bottlemen have released their first single ‘Longshot’ from their upcoming album and judging by the US tour planned for March/April, the band’s third installment should be out in coming months.
Cult Aussie stoner rockers the Dune Rats are rumoured to be back in the studio as well to follow up from the success of ‘The Kids will think it’s Bullshit’ .We also have a feeling we’ll be getting something from Nothing But Thieves after their release of single ‘Take this Lonely Heart’ a couple of months back.
Along with this we can also expect new tunes to drop sometime in 2019 from The Drums (Brutalism), Mac DeMarco, Modest Mouse, The Raconteurs, Chemical Brothers (No Geography) and from long time Belushi’s playlist store-wards Hot Chip.
