Team Margot Atlantic Rowers

Can you imagine rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean? That’s what Team Margot are doing this December 2019. They’re rowing across one of the world’s largest stretches of open water in the hope to encourage more blood stem cell donor sign ups for the Team Margot Foundation. 3000 miles, 1.5 million oar strokes. If we can get 1.5 million new registrations, there will be potentially 15000 more lives saved!

Margot’s Story

In 2013 and at just 14 months old, Margot Martini was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of Leukemia. After finding a suitable blood stem cell match and following a bone marrow transplant, Margot relapsed and sadly died in 2014 at the far too early age of 2. The number of people worldwide in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant is frightening, and on average only half of those in need of a match will succeed in finding one. Team Margot was inspired by little Margot and was set up in her memory, doing all they can to help others in their battle against blood cancer. Let’s do our bit to help, too.
